Proserpina\u2019s golden silhouette emerges from the dark, earthy background. The blossoms seem to grow out of her\u2014like a reminder that after autumn, something new begins.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even back in college, I was particularly fascinated by ancient paintings and everything they\u2019ve been through: their beautiful patina, formed over the centuries. Inspired by this, the background is built up with countless layers of paint and then worn away to create a look as if from another era.
