Flavia’s garden tells stories from a bygone era. It is inspired by ancient wall paintings that touched me deeply when I was a student… Their beauty, history and all that they have experienced. The background of this work has been built up and taken down in many layers – like weathered walls that have caught the light of the south. Above: Blossoms that tell of warm summers. And a small bird that appears as if made of gold leaf – hidden, precious, almost like a memory that appears and disappears again. A picture like an enchanted garden. Still. Multi-layered. Full of traces and signs. For all those who love what is hidden – and what remains.
