…my newest garden, with a particularly mysterious depth: a garden that has taken shape in countless layers after a warm summer rain. Deep green, delicate blossoms, and that special light when the first rays of sunshine break through the still-damp landscape… overlaid with glazes of soft olive green, Venetian pink, rosé, and warm gold. With each layer, the garden transforms. Some colors disappear again beneath new layers, while others shimmer gently through them. Only at the very end do the blossoms begin to appear—delicate, almost as if by chance—and yet exactly where the sunlight finds them after a summer rain.
